Your data is yours. We built KnowMe with that as the foundation.
What we collect
When you use KnowMe, we collect: • Your profile information (name, profession, interests, etc) • Your conversations and the memory summaries KnowMe builds over time • Your preferences (theme, model choice, etc.)
What we never do
• We never sell your data — to anyone, ever • We never use your conversations to train models • We never show you ads or track you across the web • We never share your data with third parties
How your data powers KnowMe
KnowMe's entire value is built on remembering what matters to you. Your conversations are summarized and stored so KnowMe can know you better over time. This memory lives in your account. It is private, encrypted, and only accessible to you.
AI processing
If you bring your own API key, your messages go directly to OpenAI under your account. If you use the managed plan, messages go through KnowMe's API account. OpenAI does not train on API data by default. See OpenAI's privacy policy at openai.com/privacy.
Payments
Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. You can view Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
Your controls
• Export your data anytime from your Profile page • Edit any information in your profile and memories • Delete your account and all data permanently from your Profile page — this is immediate and irreversible
Data retention
Your data exists as long as your account does. When you delete your account, everything is permanently and immediately removed — conversations, memories, profile, everything.
Security
Your API key is encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM. We design as if our database could be breached — so sensitive data is always encrypted before storage.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll notify you before they take effect.
